Hi, I’m Masa.

I was born in Fukuoka, and I still live here. This site exists because I kept seeing the same thing: travelers spending their whole Japan trip in Tokyo and Kyoto, while the city I know — the best food city in the country, if you ask any of us — stayed a one-night shinkansen stopover.

YokaTrip is my answer. “Yoka” means “good” in our dialect, and everything on this site passes one test: would I honestly recommend it to a friend visiting from abroad? No sponsored rankings, no rewritten press releases. When a famous spot is skippable, I say so. When the best bowl of ramen is in a shop with no English menu, I tell you how to order anyway.

I write under my nickname and keep my face off the site — what matters here is whether the information is true, current and useful. Every place on YokaTrip is somewhere I’ve actually been, usually more times than I can count.
